The Kalahari Desert is a large semi-arid sandy savanna in Southern Africa extending for 900,000 square kilometres, covering much of Botswana, parts of Namibia and regions of South Africa.The Kalahari is home to many migratory birds and animals. The Kalahari Desert came into existence approximately sixty million years ago along with the formation of the African continent.
